Albuquerque, NM – On April 9, 2023, at around 12:10 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash involving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) on Interstate 40 near mile marker 153 in Albuquerque, NM.
The initial investigation indicated that a 2021 Freightliner CMV was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 near mile marker 153. For reasons still under investigation, the driver of the CMV left the roadway and rolled. The driver and passenger were ejected. The passenger, Eric Remaly, (39) of San Bernardino, California, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
The driver, a forty-two-year-old female was transported to an area hospital where she is being treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor and seatbelts do not appear to have been properly utilized.
This crash is being investigated by the New Mexico State Police.
