Albuquerque, NM – On January 9, 2023, at around 9:30 p.m. the New Mexico State Police responded to a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 25 southbound and Gibson Blvd.
The initial investigation indicated that for unknown reasons Ledonta Jenkins, 43, of Albuquerque was attempting to cross over all 4 lanes of southbound traffic on Interstate 25 and was struck by a Brown Hyundai Sonata.
Mr. Jenkins suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator. The 21-year-old driver in the Hyundai was not injured. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
This crash is being investigated by the New Mexico State Police.
