Rio Arriba County, NM – On December 3, 2022, at approximately 6:47 a.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a single Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) fatal rollover crash on U.S. 550 near milepost 105, by Counselor, NM.

 

The initial investigation indicated a 2011 Kenworth CMV, driven by Timothy J. Broccolo (36) of Farmington, NM, was traveling south on U.S. 550 when one of the vehicle’s left tire sustained a blowout. The CMV crossed over the northbound lanes where it left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and rolled. Broccolo who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator. 

 

Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor and seat belts appear to have not been utilized. This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
