Socorro County, NM – On August 1, 2022, at around 10:30 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers were called to Interstate 25 at about milepost 182, south of Belen, for a single vehicle rollover.
The initial investigation indicated that a 2011 Ford Taurus, driven by Julian Munoz, 24, of Chapparal, NM, was traveling south on Interstate 25. For unknown reasons, Munoz left the roadway and rolled the vehicle. Munoz was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Seatbelts do not appear to have been properly worn at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in this crash which was investigated by the New Mexico State Police.
