Bernalillo County, NM – On May 24, 2022, at approximately 10:50 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 40 eastbound near mile marker 163 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The initial investigation shows a 2001 Toyota Camry, driven by Mallory Hosteen (20) of Albuquerque, NM was traveling east on Interstate 40 near mile marker 163. For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota left the roadway and struck the concrete median. Hosteen sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
A twenty-four-year-old male passenger of the Toyota was uninjured in the crash.
Seatbelts do not appear to have been properly utilized.
The New Mexico State Police Drone Team assisted in the investigation.
This investigation is ongoing and being led by the New Mexico State Police.
