San Miguel County, NM – On March 28, 2022, at approximately 10:21 a.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a one-vehicle fatal crash on State Road 266 near milepost 5, north of Las Vegas, NM.
The initial investigation indicates a 2018 Chevrolet passenger car, driven by Manuel Solano (74) of Sapella, NM, was traveling east on State Road 266. For reasons unknown, the Chevrolet left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, Solano sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and seat belts were properly used. This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
