Socorro County, NM – The New Mexico State Police in conjunction with the Socorro County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Socorro Police Department will be conducting Alcohol and Tobacco Compliance checks throughout Socorro County.

The compliance checks, which are designed to protect the health, safety, and welfare of New Mexicans, by regulating the sale, service, and public consumption of alcohol and tobacco products will begin this week and continue through the end of the year.

The New Mexico State Police Special Investigations Unit, along with NMSP uniform officers, Socorro County deputies, and Socorro Police officers are bringing awareness to communities to reduce the unlawful sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors.
