Sierra County, NM – On June 30, 2021, at approximately 7:57 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a one vehicle fatal rollover crash on Interstate 25 near mile post 92, north of Truth or Consequences, NM.
The initial investigation indicates a 2011 Toyota Land Rover SUV, driven by Ronald W. Stevenson (64) of Belen, NM, was traveling north on Interstate. The Toyota exited off the Interstate at Exit 92 and for reasons unknown, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Stevenson was ejected from the vehicle. During transport by emergency medical personnel to an area hospital, Stevenson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Office of Medical Investigator.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and seat belts appear to have not been properly used. This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
