Dona Ana County- On Thursday and Friday, April 1-2, 2021, New Mexico State Police officers from Las Cruces, the New Mexico State Police Motor Team, Auto-Theft Suppression Unit, K-9 Unit and the New Mexico State Police Aircraft Unit conducted a crime suppression and traffic safety operation in Dona Ana County. The operation was concentrated on Las Cruces, NM and the surrounding areas.

 

During the two-day operation, officers made 256 traffic stops and issued a total of 254 citations for various traffic violations. Officers also made a total of 13 arrests, recovered 2 stolen motor vehicles and stolen property, conducted 24 Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections and responded to 11 calls for service.

 

“It is always a goal of State Police to promote public safety and do our best to ensure the safety of the citizens we serve,” said Robert Thornton, Chief of the New Mexico State Police. “Operations like these ensure we continue to achieve that goal”
