Arrey, NM – On February 25, 2021, at around 6:45 p.m. the New Mexico State Police was alerted to a crash involving a bicycle and a passenger vehicle on New Mexico State Road 187 near milepost 19 south of Truth or Consequences.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2006 Chevy passenger vehicle was traveling north on SR 187 when for an unknown reason, an eleven-year-old boy on his bicycle crossed in front of the Chevy and was stuck in the middle of the north bound lane of SR 187. The boy was transported by medical personnel to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Out of respect for the privacy of the family, the child will not be immediately identified by State Police.

Alcohol is not suspected in the crash which is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
