San Miguel County, NM – On August 1, 2022, at around 9:00 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers were called to New Mexico State Road 104 milepost 98, north of Tucumcari for a motorcycle crash.
The initial investigation indicated that a 2002 Harley Davidson, ridden by Robert S. Evans, 60, of Nara Visa, NM was traveling east on State Road 104 when he struck a deer on the roadway. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and suffered fatal injuries. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Alcohol was not a factor in this crash which was investigated by the New Mexico State Police.
