Keeping New Mexico Safer Through Safe Roads and Safer Communities

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) has created a Seizure & Forfeiture application to address the reporting requirements of the New Mexico Forfeiture Act for law enforcement agencies. The law enforcement agencies will be responsible to request access to the Seizure & Forfeiture application from DPS.

To obtain access to the application, the law enforcement agencies will need Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Portal and a CJIS account with the correct permission (database role). A credential sheet will need to be filled out, signed, and emailed back to the DPS Servicedesk at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Note that the permission (database role) for the Seizure & forfeitures application has been filled out under “Account Access Request” portion on the credential sheet. In addition, if an agency user does not currently have a CJIS account, they must complete the 28 CFR Training and sign and scan the acknowledgement form back to DPS Servicedesk and maintain a copy for your records.

If you have any questions, please contact the DPS Servicedesk at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 505-827-3413.

In compliance with the New Mexico Forfeiture Act reporting requirements, the NMDPS has posted New Mexico Law Enforcement Agencies' 2015 seizure and forfeiture statistics.  The NMDPS is only the repository for this information.  Requests for additional information regarding specific seizures should be directed to the seizing agency.  If a specific agency is not listed on the report, that agency has not submitted seizure and forfeiture statistics to the NMDPS.
