Fatal rollover crash on I-40 in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, NM - On February 8, 2019 at about 1:52 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal rollover crash on westbound Interstate 40 near mile post 157, in Albuquerque.
The initial investigation indicated a 1994 Toyota Corolla, driven by Jeanette M. Mares (64) of Albuquerque, NM was traveling west on Interstate 40. For unknown reasons the Toyota Corolla lost control and rolled. Mares was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor in the crash. Seatbelts do not appear to have been properly used. The New Mexico State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit assisted in the investigation. No other additional information is currently available.
