Fatal Rollover Crash on Interstate 10 in Luna County

Luna County, NM - On November 23, 2018 at about 6:54 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal rollover crash on Interstate 10 near mile post 107, east of Deming.
The initial investigation indicated a 2007 Nissan pickup, driven by a male driver was traveling east on Interstate 10. For unknown reasons the male driver drove off the roadway causing the Nissan pickup to roll. The passenger, Adela Rodriguez (58) of Santa Ana, CA sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the office of medical investigator. The male driver was taken to The Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming, NM and later flown to The University Medical Center in El Paso, TX with unknown injuries.
Alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor in the crash. Seatbelts do appear to have been used properly. The name of the male driver will not be released due to him not facing any charges. No other additional information is currently available.
