Lincoln County, NM – On May 17, 2022, at approximately 7:32 a.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a one-vehicle fatal rollover crash on US Highway 54 near milepost 151, south of Corona, NM.
The initial investigation indicates a 2018 Volvo Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), driven by Rimantas Labeika (54), of Madison Heights, MI, was traveling north on US Highway 54. For reasons unknown, the Volvo left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and rolled. The driver, Labeika sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of Medical Investigator.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and it is unknown if seat belts were properly used. This crash is under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
